Who is Alfie?

Welcome to Hey Alfie, a pup lifestyle blog filled with stories, info, tips, and fun things for new puppy pawrents or anyone looking to welcome a puppy into their life sometime soon.

Who is Alfie?  He’s the new pup in town - a ruby red Cavoodle who joined our family this year and we are all obsessed. His arrival was not without plenty of disruption plus a few sleep-deprived moments wondering what we had done, but little Alfie has swept us up in a whirlwind of afternoon zoomies, toileting adventures, and a whole lot of puppy love.

I'm Kim Archer, long-time dog owner - we've bred several Maltese Shih Tzu litters over the years and first-time Cavoodle owner. 

​

Alfie is also our very first indoor dog. 

​

A new pup was definitely not on our radar at the start of 2022 but somehow my husband and I found ourselves driving to Sydney one rainy Saturday morning in March to meet Mudgee Cavoodle breeder Adam, who we had found on Gumtree. We chose Alfie from a handful of online photos and prayed we hadn’t fallen into some puppy scam where we would lose our $500 deposit and Adam would be a no show. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case and we headed home as proud new puppy owners.

Alfie has his own fun Instagram account and we soon realised we weren’t the only Cavoodle owners teetering between a total obsession with this new furry bundle and complete overwhelm.
